The STEM Alliance is once again teaming up with SoundWaters.
to bring hands-on learning ​to Mamaroneck Harbor!


Come aboard with the family for a sailing experience focused on the ecosystems of LI Sound, animal adaptations, properties of water, nautical engineering, stewardship & human impact. Examine macro and microscopic organisms, raise the sails & more!

STEM SAILS FAQs

  • STEM Sails is the The STEM Alliance’s hands-on marine science program. Participants go aboard a SoundWaters' Schooner for an interactive STEM experience exploring the Long Island Sound ecosystem, including animal adaptations, properties of water, nautical engineering, and environmental stewardship. 

  • Boats leave from Mamaroneck harbor promptly at the designated time and the excursion lasts two hours.

  • The tickets for STEM Sails are $40 per family member. Scholarships are available for families with financial need. Please fill out this form to enquire about a scholarship.
